Week 3

After exploring Flickr (extensively), I created a free account, uploaded my digital photos, added tags, titles, complete descriptions and then used one of my very favorite photos to blog about - "Cruising the Inside Passage".
I also investigated Flickr mashups & 3rd party tools. Mappr was unavailable to me so I checked out Site Pal & fd's Flickr Toys where I found a useful tool in Trip Planner, and interesting site with Sunset and I even made a trading card with one of my very own uploaded digital photos. DaDa

Cruising the inside passage

Cruising the inside passage

This was just one of the many spectacularly breathtaking sights of Alaska. It was early spring with the glaciers calving and the icebergs melting. The waters seemed to come alive with whales swimming and diving. And with 20 hours of daylight to completely immerse ourselves in the endless scenic beauty.

Wellllllllll, I guess I can say I'm finally on my way.

For week 1, I read all the FAQ, listened to the podcast about the program and am now curious to find out about blogging, rss news feeds, tagging, wikis, etc...

I also took the 5 minute tutorial reviewing the 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners. I printed out "My Learning Contract" and will be filling in the blanks over time.
My goal is to finish all 23 exercises even if I don't finish by the official deadline.

The habit that's easiest for me is the teaching/mentoring - I love sharing what I know with others and learning from them as well. The habit that is the hardest for me is the playing - I never seem to find time for that.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I'm getting a really late start on this. Sooooo I most probably won't finish in time to quality for the prize. However, I plan on doing my very best.
